Faith In The Blood Of Jesus

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Satan, the thief, is the life taker, who has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus Christ is the life giver, who has come to bring us abundant living in every area—spirit, soul, body, family, and financially.

We must clearly understand that there is no goodness in the devil and there is no badness in God! God is altogether good and the devil is altogether bad!

The devil has only three purposes in our lives as he works against us:

1. To steal. He comes to take away every good thing and every blessing that God wants us to have as Christians.

2. To kill. He comes to take our life physically and mentally through sickness, disease, alcohol, drug addiction, violent crime, accidents, and other evils.

3. To destroy. He comes to destroy our peace of mind, our homes, and marriages. He comes destroy us spiritually and take us to Hell.

The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ came to give us:

Absolute Life, Spiritual Life, Physical Life, Abundant Life, and Eternal Life.

How does Jesus give us life and what did it cost Jesus to do so? It cost Him His very blood. Scripture defines the life that is available to us through Jesus:

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”—Leviticus 17:11

“The life is in the blood.” This statement is the very bedrock of our faith.

There is more power in one single drop of the blood of Jesus than in the entire kingdom that Satan put together. God’s life is released to us through the precious blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is the source of our life.

In the shedding of His blood, Jesus, our great high priest of the New Covenant, fulfilled in exact detail the picture of the Old Testament high priest in Leviticus chapter 16 sprinkling the blood of the sacrifice seven times.

Jesus shed His blood seven times in providing full redemption for us:

1. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus released sweat drops of blood (Luke 22:44).

2. At the false trial, Jesus was beaten and struck with rods (Matthew 26:63-67).

3. Violent men pulled out His beard and facial skin (Isaiah 50:5-6).

4. Jesus was lashed with thirty-nine stripes on His back (Matthew 27:26).

5. Herod’s soldiers forced a crown of thorns on His head (Matthew 27:29).

6. Jesus was nailed to the cross through His hands and feet (Matthew 27:35).

7. As Jesus died hanging on the cross, the Roman soldiers pierced His side with a spear and every drop of His blood was finally released to give us life in every area (John 19:34).
