How To Receive Revelation Knowledge

We must realize that the ability to receive revelation knowledge belongs us.

He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you (believers) to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them (unbelievers) it has not been given.” — Matthew 13:11 (NKJV)

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you, and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. — Mark 4:24 (Amplified)

Every child of God has the right and privilege to receive revelation knowledge, but we must hunger and thirst after revelation knowledge that comes to our hearts, not heads.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” — Matthew 5:6 (NKJV)

We must look to and recognize that it is the Holy Spirit who is the source of revelation knowledge (John 16:13-14; 1 Corinthians 2:9-14).

He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, diclose, transmit) it to you. — John 16:14 (Amplified)

The Holy Spirit is the one who opens up the Bible to us. He is the Great Teacher of the church and the author of revelation knowledge. We should depend upon Him and ask for His help. Only the Holy Spirit can quicken our understanding and enlighten our spirits with revelation truth.

We must pray the prayers of Paul regularly to receive revelation knowledge.

Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. — 2 Timothy 2:7 (NKJV)

Ephesians 1:15-23 is a prayer for spiritual wisdom and revelation knowledge.

Ephesians 3:14-21 is a prayer for supernatural strength in the inner person.

Philippians 1:9-11 is a prayer for revelation knowledge.

Colossians 1:9-12 is a prayer for spiritual understanding.

These are Holy Spirit anointed prayers for the church to see and walk in revelation knowledge and God’s wisdom.

Revelation comes by meditation in God’s Word.

There are five things we should do with the Word:  read it, study it, confess it, meditate on it, and obey it.

In the Greek New Testament there are two different words for the Word of God:

Logos is the whole of the written word, the whole Bible.

Rhema is the word revealed to our hearts and spoken out of our mouths in faith.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word (rhema) of God. — Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (rhema) of God. — Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV)
